OpenScape Video conferencing solution
Enhance collaboration, cut costs
In a global market place, colleagues and customers are spread far and wide. And while this may be good for business, it isn’t always so good for collaboration; face-to-face meetings are time consuming, costly and have a big impact on an organization’s carbon footprint.
Companies are now under increased pressure to reduce their environmental impact, and their traveling expenses. Yet at the same time, as competition intensifies, there is a greater need than ever for enhanced collaboration and faster decision making.
This is the challenge modern businesses now face.
The answer is OpenScape Video from Siemens Enterprise Communications - the first single vendor unified video conferencing solution.
Unified video conferencing for everyone
Up until now, video conferencing has been expensive and exclusive but OpenScape Video opens up that world.
An HD SIP-based solution for the large enterprise, when deployed with the OpenScape UCServer, OpenScape Video integrates HD video, desktop PC video, voice and presence into a single, powerful, communication environment – making it both affordable and accessible.
A new face in HD conferencing
For video conferencing to successfully replace in-person meetings, it must replicate them as closely as possible. By delivering a High Definition video resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels at 30 frames per second, OpenScape Video is able to make participants appear true to size. This - combined with mic puc high definition, echo free audio - creates a genuine ‘same room’, immersive experience for all attendees, wherever they are in the world.
See the benefits
Providing an affordable, viable alternative to in-person meetings - that is truly accessible - OpenScape Video offers far-reaching benefits to business.
Reduce costs
Because OpenScape Video runs effectively over IP networks, it can potentially eliminate the need for costly ISDN connections. It also works with legacy and third-party endpoints – so there’s no need implement a costly rip and replace strategy.
Add to that, the time and financial costs that can be saved by avoiding in-person meetings, and OpenScape Video can have a real influence on your bottom line.
Increase collaboration
Unlike traditional video conferencing systems, with OpenScape Video there is no painful planning to make a video call. This means any colleagues with mobile/desk phones can be added to a conference call on an adhoc basis – even out of office workers can join in on a mobile phone or from their PC soft-client. And integration with the OpenScape Unified Communications Server means video endpoints can be part of a Presence listing – just like email, mobiles and desk phones are currently.
This means you can benefit from enhanced collaboration, faster decision making, and improve your customer service offering. And with the ability to meet ‘virtually’, problems can be solved more effectively and projects moved along more efficiently – so your employees can use their time more productively.
Enhance your Green credentials
As Green credentials become increasingly important to clients and investors, reducing your carbon footprint isn’t only good for the environment, it’s good for business.By eliminating the need for long distance and overseas travel, OpenScape Video can be a major factor in helping you to achieve your environmental goals.
The OpenScape Video portfolio from Siemens includes four distinct yet fully integrated offerings:
VHD 600 – includes a high definition camera, a CD quality conference phone, and a codec which can bridge up to six sites on a video conference call. This has the ability to support two monitors and two cameras for the call. This can be particularly useful to share a presentation deck on one monitor and still see the meeting participants on the second monitor.
VHD 400 – includes the same components as the VHD 600, but for bridging four sites
VHD 100 – a single point-to-point solution (camera, mic and codec) to enable one to one calls or for the user to join a conference hosted on a VHD 400 or VHD 600 or a third party video bridge.
In addition:-
OpenScape UC Application Desktop Client
– a SIP based soft client that supports voice and video calling, buddy lists, presence and IM.
