As stated by Colleen Phelan, Director of Marketing Services at Delta Vacations and one of our fabulous speakers, “You gotta give your customers what they want.” And so we did!
Earlier this month MarcomCentral wrapped up their fifth User Conference in sunny Del Mar, California. Attendees came from all over the United States, including Boston, Florida, even as far as New York City, just to connect with others in marketing and to hear the exciting new features MarcomCentral will be rolling out in 2017.
Highlights from the conference included a presentation from guest speaker Randi Garrett, Marketing Manager at Genworth Financial, who shared examples of how the MarcomCentral portal helped shape the way her team produces marketing materials.
One such example focused on the overwhelming one-off requests she and her team constantly received before implementing their MarcomCentral portal. Once their portal launched however, the number of creative requests they were receiving dropped dramatically, all because customizable materials were added into one online location users could access from anywhere, at any time. In addition to adding these materials, Randi made sure she trained all of her field reps extensively on how to search and locate pieces in their portal. She did this in a way that would resonate well with each user so they could find whatever they need quickly and easily, making the portal a huge hit amongst the entire company.
This session and others provided attendees with fresh ideas and tactical actions they can implement right away. Plus, attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and gain further knowledge of how they can enhance their portals the same way users like Randi did.
Attendees also got a chance to see a live presentation from world-renowned speaker, Vinh Giang. Vinh spooked, shocked and intrigued the audience with his inspiring speech on perception. He also performed countless magic tricks that literally blew everyone’s mind – and no, he did not pull a bunny out of his magic hat. Instead, Vinh shared his experiences in business and how we as humans look at the world and our peers. Perception is what YOU make of it. Remember that.
Besides gaining a few pounds from the endless amounts of fresh seafood, fine wine and sweets, users also gained insider knowledge from the Client Services and Engineering team at MarcomCentral. For the first time ever, users got the chance to see the new Business Intelligence reporting MarcomCentral will be rolling out this year, plus all attendees got to see a live demonstration of what the new user-friendly interface will look like.
All in all, we are very happy to have ended the conference with record high attendance, fantastic feedback and even more ideas for next year’s conference.
